American Soundtrack: Elmer Bernstein’s 50 Years of Movie Magic

Legendary film composer Elmer Bernstein became the only person nominated for an Academy Award in every decade from the 1950s to the 2000s as he reimagined film music and scores in the transition from the Old Hollywood to the new. Join his son Peter Bernstein on a musical journey of Elmer’s award winning compositions with behind the scenes stories of some of the great film music of the 20th century. Peter Bernstein brings a unique perspective as the son, orchestrator, conductor and sometime collaborator with his father throughout his career. Features scores from The Ten Commandments, The Magnificent 7, To Kill A Mockingbird, Walk on the Wild Side, The Great Escape and more. Optional visual component.
