Aconcagua is the most ambitious concert work by Astor Piazzolla, the father of New Tango. In this concerto the Argentine bandoneon master Hector Del Curto features the rich and multifarious qualities of bandoneon as no other can. The three-movement work is a journey across an endless variances of emotion, from utmost tenderness, to fiery passion. This work is for bandoneon and orchestra.
